Procurement

This year we extended our procurement programme from London only, where it began, to our US and Swiss offices.

As signalled in last year’s Corporate Responsibility Report, we have also begun to roll out a key supplier assessment which requires any existing or potential supplier of goods or services with a value exceeding $200,000 to complete and return a detailed questionnaire which assesses their company by key Corporate Responsibility criteria including:
  • Health and Safety
  • Quality Management
  • Environment
  • Corporate Responsibility (including ethical sources)
  • Procurement and Commercial
  • Insurance
  • Referees

A copy of the questionnaire will be included on our Corporate Responsibility website.

Returned questionnaires will be reviewed by the Heads of Building Management, Group Procurement, Corporate Responsibility and Group Insurance.

This is just the first step on the journey: we will be developing and embedding a more detailed benchmark and audit process over the coming year.

How did we do?
The distribution of our spend, even with the addition of our US and Swiss offices, remained broadly static year on year.

Savings achieved this year near-doubled, from last year’s $1,278,000 to $2,511,665.

Our plans for next year
We will continue to focus on ensuring the compliance of our suppliers with our corporate responsibility principles.
