Our commitment to the people who make up the Man Family is very real and was an integral part of the Man culture long before I joined the Group. We work hard to maintain a positive and safe working environment through effective and productive two-way communication with our employees. To achieve this we have a team of dedicated human resource professionals who genuinely partner with every part of the business.

Our employees are our greatest asset and we strive continuously to achieve the most effective engagement and interaction with them. We aim to be an employer of choice to attract and retain the most talented individuals and provide an environment which fosters individual creativity, teamwork and collaboration. Our flat structure allows every employee the opportunity to contribute to our success.

We go on to state explicitly that: “All of the managerial elements which concern the attraction, motivation, retention and career progression of our people at all levels of the Group are, therefore, of significant ongoing focus of management in the continuous maintenance of our positive employer brand”.

Our non weighted employee turnover reduced from 14.5% to 13.8% year-on-year. During the year, in addition to the 1,570 people from Refco, 1,158 new people joined us.

Corporate responsibility is an essential discipline which helps us better understand our global employee base and segment it into key diversity groups.

Our Global Employee Surveys enable management to demonstrate their responsibility to our employees by taking appropriate action to address the issues raised.

We believe the structure and discipline provided by our corporate responsibility function and programmes instigate a degree of corporate accountability within our people which enables them to feel valued as the primary assets in our business.

I believe that our reputation is held in trust by our people; they represent our goodwill and they are, in every sense, our brand.
