Apprenticeships

Please note our apprenticeship programmes are based in Switzerland but are open to everybody.

Our Swiss apprenticeship programmes are available to people who have a genuine interest in alternative investments. All apprentices will gain a first-hand insight into the world of alternative investments and will gain exposure to several different departments in an international environment.

IT (Systems Engineering)

Our IT apprenticeship is a four-year programme.

This is an opportunity to acquire direct experience of many different aspects of systems engineering. IT apprentices can, if appropriate, also gain their higher vocational school-leaving certificates (Berufsmatura).

In your first year of training, you will attend the Regional Training Centre, Au (RAU) to learn IT basic theory, and spend two days a week receiving specialised and general instruction at the vocational schools in Horgen and/or Zurich.

Your second to fourth years are more practically-focused. During this time, you will rotate through various IT departments, such as Helpdesk, Support, Engineering, Platform Support, Operations, Voice and Data Networks, gaining both general experience and specialised instruction across a broad range of IT activities.

We will be interested in talking to you if you can bring us the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • good grades in the sciences and mathematics
  • good knowledge of, and good grades in, English and German
  • team skills
  • a capacity for logical and analytical thinking
  • agile learning ability

Commercial (Service and Administration)

Our commercial apprenticeship is a three-year programme.

This is an opportunity to explore all the aspects of a commercial profession. We offer ‘Profile E’, but if appropriate you can also gain your higher vocational school-leaving certificate (“Profile M”).

Training consists broadly of several periods of practical experience, of between three and seven months’ duration, managed and supported by experienced vocational trainers. You can expect to work across a range of different departments, such as Administration and Logistics, Technology Group, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Investment Management and Human Resources.

You will also spend one or two days a week receiving specialised and general instruction at the vocational school in Lachen, and gain a basic knowledge of the banking profession through attending the Center for Young Professionals in Banking (CYP).

We would be interested in talking to you if you can bring us the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • good results in school-leaving certificate
  • good knowledge of, and good grades in, English and German
  • team skills
  • a capacity for logical and analytical thinking
