Legal Counsel [3194]

Manager Products is a team at Man Investments within the Product, Structuring, Finance and Legal group (PSFL).  Manager Products is responsible for all legal matters arising with respect to third party investment managers, including legal due diligence for fund of fund allocations to third party funds and ongoing legal maintenance with respect to such investments, as well as all legal negotiations and structuring relating to the Man managed account platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal due diligence on proposed fund investments
  • Counsel Hedge Fund Research on legal risks regarding fund of fund investments and managed account arrangements
  • Set up of corporate fund structures
  • Draft and negotiate legal agreements with managers and third party service providers
  • Liaise with various other  internal business units as necessary to support manager relationships
  • Support additional manager and or fund requirements “post investment” by remaining legal point of contact on particular deals
  • Utilise and manage external counsel where appropriate
  • Maintain template agreements as appropriate
  • Proactively advise business units on the impact of FSA Regulations and UK tax issues
  • Proactively develop innovative structural solutions to meet the demands of the investment allocation business, as necessary

Requirements:

  • 3 year qualified Attorney
  • Dynamic team player
  • Excellent legal and communication skills
  • Capable of managing a demanding work load from senior level personnel while still meeting deadline
  • UK qualified
  • Experience in alternative investments dealing with investment management agreements, fund legal due diligence, negotiations and regulatory and tax issues relating to hedge funds
