"I don't think a course can teach you how to be a leader - I think that a leader possesses those qualities naturally but are often underdeveloped. What the AMP does is draw attention to the skills that are used subconsciously and helps to hone and mature them. It provides up and coming leaders with the tool set to be truly effective and successful. Communication is an example - we do it daily but do we do it effectively? AMP is a hands-on course - it takes real examples to drive messages home and forces participants to examine and asses their current behaviour and its effectiveness. The tools are useful - we heavily utilised the communication and stakeholder plan in our project but the value comes from enhancing the softer skills. Coaching the team to find their own solutions motivates and empowers them and in addition, knowing how to effectively persuade someone can often be helpful!
