After contracting with Man for six months, I joined permanently in May 2002. Which means I’ve seen first hand the amazing growth the company has gone through over the last few years.

It was initially the personality of the company that convinced me to join - everyone is driven, hard working and dedicated. Man put on team lunches and company outings and always keep us up to date with monthly meetings.

After cutting my teeth as a Support Engineer and looking after the systems during an office move in Chicago, I currently work as a Technology Manager for the Americas. I look after a team of five and manage the budgets and responsibilities that go with a big role. I travel a couple of times a month to various offices around the globe – setting up servers and phone systems essential to our operation. It’s hard work and can be tiring, but I’ve learned a lot about getting the best out of my team and keep learning on the job all the time.

Anyone who’s considering a career in technology should definitely look at Man. The culture, training and fact it’s really career orientated is something you just don’t find in many other firms. Whilst being a big firm, the fact it also still thinks small means you get some great opportunities. And the bonus scheme is always a great motivator!
